Part of the success of any business lies in getting your message out, expanding the reach to those who can be a resource for your company. As we know, not all business is conducted in the office setting. Networking can bring you more customers, uncover a resource referral, it can be a learning experience or even lead to a new job.

Now there is an excellent opportunity for networking right here in San Antonio.

Networking for Professionals is a business networking organization that combines meetings and events with online resources and has a national presence in some of the major cities. Power lunches and networking mixers are some of the ways they blend business professionals into a social setting. Think speed dating for business professional connections.

The next event to be held here in San Antonio and is called “Shakers and Stirrers”. It will be on Wednesday September 29th, 2010 at the StoneWerks-The Rim location at 5807 Worth Parkway from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

The event will cost $10 for members in advance or $20 at the door for non-members and includes complimentary appetizers and happy hour drink specials.

The purpose of networking is to make quality business connections and the following day you will get a list of attendees by email to follow up with your contacts.

Here are a few tips when you attend an event:
* Bring your business cards
* Polish your introduction and business statement
* Take a sincere interest in others

On April 13, NYC professionals converged on The Galway Hooker Pub in Midtown Manhattan, armed with their best elevator pitch and a handful of business cards. They participated in a series of lightning-fast 4-minute introductions over the course of the evening.
