||I have three degrees: an associate's from a 6-year combined high school/college liberal arts program, a BA in Communication Arts from Fordham College, and an MA in English and American Lit from Trinity College, Hartford. I have more than 37 years experience as a publicist, communications specialist, journalist, professor and education entrepreneur. I specialize in college prep/screening, newsletters, speakers bureaus, alumni profiles, career knowledge networking. Also taught first year writing and rhetoric for 3 years at University of Harford. I was a marketing proposal writer for an award-winning architectural firm, Tai Soo Kim Partners. A large part of this firm's portfolio was the design of schools and colleges, and I helped to develop community communications to ensure a sucessful school renovation referendum.
Prior to this I worked as communications specialist at Kaman Aerospace Corp., a Fortune 500 company. I wrote and laid out four-color, 8-page monthly newsletters, and advanced the company's new Lean Enterprise plan, later recognized by Productivity Inc., in the company of Ford Motor Company, Harley Davidson, and Black & Decker.
Prior to Kaman, edited a newsletter for Central Connecticut State University on Professional Development Schools (PDS), created newsletters and Alumni Profiles Booklets for Cambridge College (MA) recruitment, networking, fundraising purposes, and wrote the newsletter for the University of Hartford linking the campus to several city schools. Managed the grant-driven, six-college Speakers Bureau on International Security Issues, featuring a successful pilot discussion series in 12 Connecticut libraries on 'Choices for the 21st Century: America's Role in a Changing World' which lead to a $180,000 grant to the Soutnern CT Library Council.
